2 Hurt in Pedestrian Crash on Niles Street [Bakersfield, CA]


Pedestrian Crash on Niles Street Left Two Injured

BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 6, 2021) – A 7-year-old boy and a woman were hospitalized after a pedestrian crash on Niles Street.

Authorities said this occurred around 8 a.m., at Niles Street and Catalpa way near Horace Mann Elementary School. The two were crossing the street within a marked crosswalk when a Ford Explorer hit them.

Apparently, the driver did not see them upon making a left turn from Catalpa Way onto Niles.

The boy suffering major injuries from the collision while the woman suffered minor ones.

First Responders took them both to Kern Medical for treatment.

According to initial investigation, alcohol or drugs did not appear to be a factor in the incident.
