Amazon welcomes new robots to minimize warehouse hazardous hellscape


Amazon could recruit Ernie and Bert as their new warehouse staff. And no these should not people however two robots whom the corporate is testing to maneuver packages, carts, and different objects throughout its fulfilment centres.

By recruiting robots for its warehouse duties Amazon has taken a step in the direction of its purpose to scale back recordable warehouse incident charges by 50% and make the job of its staff safer.

Ernie a workstation system is being examined to retrieve objects from its warehouse cell cabinets, so the staff gained’t need to climb up or bend to retrieve the objects themselves. Bert is Amazon’s first autonomous cell robotic that strikes by itself and will likely be carrying objects throughout the warehouse flooring.
