Dudamel Conducts Beethoven at the Bowl

Dudamel Conducts Beethoven at the Bowl: Of all the open air venues in the SoCal region, the Hollywood Bowl is arguably the most pleasurable to be in, music aside. The scenery up there is lovely, which in turn provides a quite serene vibe. So it’s a great place to watch some classical music. We were there for the recent Thundercat/Flying Lotus show for frontline workers, and we heard someone ask a staff member “Is this the first concert here besides classical music, which nobody gives a shit about?” To which we wanted to yell, “WE DO!”

The LA Phil is such a vital and vibrant part of our region’s musical and cultural landscape. We’re lucky to have such a talented orchestra, and in Maestro Gustavo Dudamel, a skilled and exciting conductor. On Thursday, he conducts Beethoven’s “Triple Concerto” as well as Falla’s ballet “The Three Cornered Hat.”

Dudamel Conducts Beethoven at the Bowl: The event takes place at 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 19 at the Hollywood Bowl.
